Lions Eye Foundation of Southern California Mobile Health Screening Unit (LEFSC MHSU)a 501 c 3 coporation owns and operates the Lions eyemobile. The calendar for the Eyemobile is on this site and Lion Clubs can download the form to reserve the unit.

LSHFSC also sponsors eye needs of Southern California in the area of financial grants for cornea transplants, instruments for corneal protection and retrievable corneas.

THE MISSION of the Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation is to provide vision related surgery and medical devices and accessory equipment, training and servics to the visually impaired, blind, deaf and hard of hearing legal residents of Southern California referred to it by local Lion Clubs.

Since 1963 the Foundation has sponsored the eye needs of Southern California USA in the area of financial grants for cornea transplants, instruments for corneal protection and retrievable corneas; and the providing of a mobile glaucoma and visual acuity screening unit to reach the public in their own communities.

This Lions Foundation was incorporated in 1963 in accordance with the laws of the State of California, and was granted and maintains a tax exempt status under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) as amended.

The Officers and Board of Directors of LSHFSC are comprised of volunteer active general members from representative clubs in their communities, along with members who are specialists in the areas of Medicine, Optometric, and Legal Services.

In 1979 a subsidiary corporation, the Lions Eye Foundation Memorial Trust, was created for the purpose of receiving and managing an ever-increasing amount of funds from estates and other donations from the community at large and to provide financial support and stability on a long-term basis. In 2010 this subsidiary corporation returned to LSH. We hope you find the information on our web site helpful.
