LEFSC Classes & Programs

We strive for a welcoming, collaborative, and fun skating environment for our coaches and skaters. A component of our club that we are especially proud of is group and team teaching environments where skaters can learn from each other, challenge each other, and grow lasting friendships

Learn to Skate

Learn to Skate classes are the start of the skating journey for all skaters. As we partner with multiple rinks - these aren’t club specific programs but they are run by many of our coaches. Find the closest program to you!

Aspire

In partnership with the Lake Effect Figure Skating and Southside Skating School in Byron Center, our Aspire program offers group on and off ice classes for skaters once they advance from Learn to Skate.

We are the ONLY U.S. Figure Skating Aspire program in the Grand Rapids area!

Aspire classes are for skaters who have completed the basic skills curriculum and are working on:

  • Basic 6, Aspire 1-4, or Excel

  • Skaters who are competing or testing any single level jump

  • Coach Stephanie Jursa offers classes including power skating, off ice jumps, strength and conditioning, and Ballet/Stretch. Please contact Stephanie if you would like access to these classes and for more information.

In Muskegon at Lakeshore Sports Centre, Coach Brooke Mishica offers an on ice edge class that is open to all LEFSC skaters. Please contact Coach Brooke for more information.
